Discount Programs Eligibility for Fuel Assistance can give you the Life-Line discount on your local phone bill. You may also be eligible for discounts on your gas and electric bills. The discounts range from 10--25% on the distribution charges. Some utilities require that the name on the bill is the same as the Head of Household on your fuel assistance application.
Weatherization Services Can install attic and/or wall insulation and perform air sealing measures to prevent heat loss from your home.
The Heartwap Program Provides heating system repair and replacement services to low-income households. Households that are eligible for LIHEAP with a gross annual income that does not exceed 60% of the estimated state median income are eligible for HEARTWAP services. The program is designed primarily to serve homeowners.
Citizens Energy (Joe Kennedy Oil): If you're not eligible for Fuel Assistance and in financial hardship, or you've exhausted your benefits, we can arrange an oil delivery for 100 gallons free. Program starts Mid-December.
EFSP ( Emergency Food and Shelter Program) Can assist with one month's heating bill if you are in a no heat situation or threatened with utility shut-off. EFSP often works in conjunction with other agencies and a client payment, if necessary. Funds are usually available in mid-April.
