Mayor's Summer Youth Employment Program

Looking for a summer job? Are you between 14 and 18?
The Mayor’s Summer Youth Employment Program (MSYEP) is your best bet for summer employment.

Program Requirements

  • You must be 14 - 18 years old
  • You must be a Cambridge resident

Program Information

  • 6 week long program
    (2012 Program will run July 2 - August 10)
  • Applications available April 23, 2012 
  • 20 hour work week; $8.00 per hour
  • 120 Worksites
  • Types of work include: office work, childcare, video production, maintenance, landscaping, elder care, library work, working in a medical facility, and teen leadership programs, among others

How To Apply

  • Pick up an application in late April. Applications available at all public elementary schools, Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, all city youth centers, the Office of Workforce Development, the Office of the Mayor, and other locations.
  • Applications available at this website after April 23, 2012
  • Program deadline is May 11, 2012

Applications can be returned to the following locations during dates and times specified on the application form.

Bring the following identification when you return your application:

For U.S. Citizens

  • Original Birth Certificate (and a photocopy)
  • Original Social Security Card (and a photocopy)
  • School Report Card or ID Card or Medical Record or ID Card (and a photocopy)

For non - U.S. Citizens

  • Original Social Security Card (and a photocopy)
  • Original Resident Alien Card or Permanent Resident Card (and a photocopy)
