ü Between 2002 and 2012, the number of people bicycling in Cambridge tripled (Bicycle Trends in Cambridge)

ü According to March 2012 ranking from Prevention.com & Walkscore.com, Cambridge ranks #1 Most Walkable City in the United States.

ü In Harvard Square, there are 173 metered vehicle parking spaces, and almost triple the amount of bicycles parked - 439 bicycles (August 2012 bicycle parking inventory).

ü According to a study in Cambridge’s Cambridgeport neighborhood, 65% all households have one or more bicycle (CitySmart, Cambridgeport Baseline Study, 2009).

ü Alewife station has parking facilities for 500 bicycles, 300 of which are in secure bike rooms monitored by security camera and keycard access.  More information here.
