General Business

  • Update by Susan Glazer, Acting Assistant City Manager for Community Development.
  • 7:00 P. M. Board of Zoning Appeal Cases.

Public Hearing

  • 7:20 p.m. City Council Petition to amend Article 7.000 Signs and Illumination, in the following ways:
    • Clarify that signs and banners in the public way are not subject to this regulation;
    • Make clear that when a corporation uses color or graphics as part of its brand identification, those elements are included in the calculated area of allowable signage;
    • Allow a limited number of wall signs on a building to exceed height limits to identify buildings or major tenants;
    • Allow some variation in the size, height and illumination of some signs to meet unique circumstances, by special permit, if they meet certain criteria; and
    • Allow some temporary signs associated with art museums, performance spaces and similar venues.

General Business

  • PB#151, 360 Binney Street, Major Amendment to reduce the maximum and minimum number of parking spaces required from 284 – 424 to 0 – 284 as allowed in Section 6.35.1 and Section 10.45 of the Zoning Ordinance. No other changes to the Special Permit are anticipated. Amgen, Inc, applicant. Discussion and possible decision.
  • PB#248, 1067 Massachusetts Avenue - Design Review: The Permittee proposes an increase in the north side residential setback from 8” to 3’; a reduction in the street side residential setbacks from 8” to 1”; and review of design changes to the corner and north wall.
  • Other.
