Members Sought for Green Collar Jobs Task Force


City Manager Robert W. Healy is seeking interested parties to serve on a Green Collar Jobs Task Force. This group will work with city staff over a period of approximately six to eight months to identify and carry out demand forecasting for the green collar jobs of the future. The group will also research training opportunities and possible partnerships with training and educational institutions. The group is expected to forward a series of recommendations to the City Manager in late Fall 2008.

Representation is sought from the following groups, among others: construction trades, unions, energy services groups, training organizations, universities, local and state environmental groups and community groups.

Various city departments will also participate in this effort, including Workforce Development, Economic Development and Environmental & Transportation Planning.
