Snow Information and Resources

The City of Cambridge reminds residents, businesses, and property owners to be sure to clear snow and ice from sidewalks and curb ramps this winter.

City Ordinance requires that snow be removed from sidewalks within 12 hours after snow stops falling during the day and before 1 p.m. when snow falls overnight. Ice must be removed within 6 hours of forming. Please be sure to clear both sidewalks if you are on a corner, clear ramps at sidewalks, and please keep storm drains clear.

Visit the DPW’s snow website at www.cambridgema.gov/snow for additional information about snow removal requirements and resources, and topics like parking and plowing. The website also has a feature that will allow you to report icy or un-shoveled sidewalks using an online form.
