If you are planning an event (not moving into Cambridge) and expecting to need more parking than is normally available in the area, you may request "consideration". Simply put, consideration means that at the date, time and location of your event, Resident Permit Parking will not be enforced. Your guests will be required to abide by the rules enforced when using a Visitor Parking Permit. The rules are on the reverse side of the Visitor Parking permit
Consideration is not for long term parking.
Consideration requests must be submitted in writing, either by letter, fax (617 349-4735), or on-line form. Requests must include applicant's name, telephone number, and reason for request; and location, dates and hours of consideration requested.
-
Parking consideration applies ONLY to Resident Permit Parking areas.
-
ALL other restrictions will continue to be enforced.
-
Requests must be submitted at least one full business day prior to the dates of consideration and must be approved by the Parking Enforcement Coordinator.
-
You will be contacted ONLY if problems exist with your application.
You can now apply on-line for consideration for your event. Your request will automatically be submitted both to the Traffic, Parking and Transportation Department and to the Police Department.
Unless you are using the on-line form, you must also contact the Police Department at 617 349-3300.
