Peaceable Kingdom
a window into the imagination of
Gail Boyajian

Memorial by Gail Boyajian
January 26 – March 3, 2009
Receptions: February 2 & March 2, 6-8 pm
(First Mondays @ CAC Gallery)
CAC Gallery is proud to present the work of Gail Boyajian, a Cambridge artist who created “Otter Fence” at the Larch Road Park in West Cambridge in 2001. This exhibition offers an opportunity to understand the artist’s sources and exploratory threads that give rise to her intricately painted imaginary landscapes.
In Boyajian’s paintings, human civilization, the beauty of nature, architecture, mythology, and geologic history coexist in a harmonious imagined world of a “fused past, present, and future." Within landscapes that are intimate, yet expansive, mountains, rivers, and cities are characters as much as the bugs, lions, historical figures and the friends of the artist.
