Western Avenue Citizen Advisory Committee

The City of Cambridge is looking for people who live and work near Western Avenue interested in participating in planning the reconstruction of the street.

 

Western Avenue is slated to be fully reconstructed in 2011, including significant utility and surface restoration work.  As part of the planning process, the City Manager will appoint an advisory committee to work with city staff in making recommendations on the surface restoration plans. 

 

The Western Avenue project will look at all modes of travel including pedestrian, bicycle, transit and vehicular, and make recommendations regarding facilities for each mode, possible circulation changes, surface materials, lighting, tree planting and green spaces.  The committee is expected to begin meeting in January 2010 and continue meeting for approximately six to nine months.
