Same Sex Marriage Update 4-28-04. Premarital Blood Test Information
In Goodrich vs. the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court ruled that same sex couples are entitled to choose to be married. The Court delayed the entry of judgment until May 17, 2004 to give the Legislature time to make any necessary changes to the marriage statutes.
To date, the marriage statutes have not been changed. If no changes are made before May 17, 2004, the present rules for marriage will apply to same sex couples as well as heterosexual couples.
