ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Baby University (Baby U) is an intensive family support program of the Center for Families. It serves Cambridge families with at least one child under the age of 4, with a priority given to families living in public or subsidized housing. Through a strength based, racial equity lens, Baby U supports families by providing evidence-based parent education, access to local resources and supports, and opportunities to develop community.
Under the supervision of the Baby U Program Coordinator, the Father Facilitator will work with Baby U Families, and provide support for Fathers participating in the program and with men whose female partners are participating in the program. They will provide regular home visits, organize father events, and help connect fathers to local resources. They will assist with outreach and recruitment for Baby U as well as lead fathers' groups and connect with fathers throughout the core and alumni program. The Father Facilitator will co-supervise and support the Cambridge Dads Coordinator.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Recruitment
- With other staff, create and produce Core Program outreach and recruitment material. Organize Core Program recruitment mailings. With other staff, distribute recruitment and outreach material and recruit families to attend Core Program.
- Attend outreach events including housing development door to door in service areas as needed.
- With other staff, maintain up to date and accurate recruitment binder, and assist with data entry.
- Work with community partners to strengthen the fatherhood partnerships and recruitment efforts.
- Schedule home visits with interested families to introduce them to the program and to formally sign-up for the program. Transmit completed intake forms. Confirm enrollment with families.
Core and Alumni Program
- Provide input into the development of the workshops and playgroups curricula for the Core Program. Attend training to learn and prepare curriculum and materials. Assist in the development of father specific curricula for both Core and Alumni Programs.
- Oversee Baby U supply system and storage, work with Baby U Program Coordinator to create and order Core Program and Alumni supplies.
- Facilitate, with other Baby U staff, 14 Saturday parent education workshops and playgroups during the Core Program. Co-plan and facilitate Graduation ceremony.
- Conduct home visits to Core Program and Alumni Association families. Complete and submit home visit notes weekly. Complete family summary report for each Core Program family yearly. Participate in weekly team consultation meeting and provide ongoing regular updates to the Baby U Family Services Coordinator on all families experiencing crisis.
- In collaboration with other Baby U staff, plan and facilitate Baby U Alumni Association events.
- Design and implement regular alumni events for fathers.
- Act as liaison to specific community resources.
- Provide administrative support to Baby U Program and Family Services Coordinators in the following areas: outreach materials, evaluation data entry and developing graduation materials.
- Collect and track all evaluation and attendance data required by program particularly those related to fathers.
- Assist in organization and management of Baby U supplies and program materials.
- All other duties that may be necessary.
Center for Families
- Work with Center for Families staff to coordinate fatherhood programming.
- Co-supervise the Cambridge Dads Coordinator.
- Support recruitment for fatherhood programming.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Minimum of three years' experience working with diverse populations of young children and families required.
- Strong experience with group facilitation.
- Experience with family support, parent education, early childhood education and community outreach.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about community resources.
- Able to work evening and weekend hours.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment. Fluorescent lighting, carpeted floors, and air conditioning.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to run, during play or responding to an emergency. Employees are frequently required to engage with children on the floor and at their eye level. Employees are frequently required to use their hands and arms to hand and manipulate objects as well as reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a child. Vision abilities are required for supervision of children. Employee is required to carry materials up to 40 pounds and set up rooms for programming. This position may be eligible for hybrid work under the City's Telework Policy, depending on operational needs.

RATE: $50,859-$61,639 annually plus excellent benefits
